Zero Toxic Chemicals When Burned

Superior Essex today announces the availability UL Listed CM rated Low Smoke Zero-Halogen (LSZH) CAT 5e and CAT 6+ cables. These cables do not produce any toxic chloride compounds when burned, making it the safest choice for applications when exposure to toxins during a fire must be minimized.
These LSZH cables fully comply with UL 444 and UL 1685. They meet physical and electrical performance requirements of ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 and IEC 61156-5 for CAT 5e and CAT 6+ cables, and safety requirements of IEC 60332-3, IEC 61034, and IEC 60754. Superior Essex CAT 5e and CAT 6+ CM LSZH are 100% halogen-free and are used in installations where the protection of people and equipment from toxic and corrosive gas is critical.
